THE BREATHING

We do not stop breathing until we are not alive and whilst we live we have to breathe. There is no action closer to the life than the breathing, but when do we stop to think about our breathing? Are you conscious of your breathing? What happens when you are conscious of your breathing?

Human beings are capable to control the rhythm of their breathing, for example we can dive without swallowing water, but most of the time the breathing is not that conscious, only the deepest part of our brains are the ones that decide the rhythm , the volume and the moment.

We have to have a real good concentration to keep a conscious concentration. Our brain will want to recover and keep the control.

The breathing is a process in which the human being inhale oxygen and exhale carbonic dioxide.

In Yoga the most important aspect of the breathing is the “Prana”, or energy coming from the vital breath. When the control of the Prana has gotten we control the mind. The breathing exercises are called Pranayamas, what means “control of Prana”.

When a person is conscious of her/his breathing and movements and has total control over his/her mind, body and mind turn into an only one piece , that makes a new body with a new mystic identity to feel immortal inside the space and in its on time. The basic idea of control the breathing not only in Yoga but in Pilates and even in other sports like Fitness, body building and so on means that if one has the conscious control of the breathing is conscious of the moment as well, a person can not dream when he/she is awake, and be conscious of the breathing at the same time.

As important to keep the concentration in the breathing is the rhythm of it, it is important as well to keep the breathing in the limits of the aerobic exercises.
